Deputies responded to the Harbor Freight Tools parking lot located at Fletcher and Florida avenue in reference to a stolen vehicle. The owner of a Chrysler Sebring contacted the Sheriff’s Office when they discovered their stolen vehicle at that location. Deputies attempted to block the vehicle in, and the vehicle fled by jumping a curb and striking Deputy Kristopher Katzer’s vehicle (no injuries). The suspect vehicle then fled the area heading toward 122nd and Florida , where a patrol deputy (Deputy Lawrence Craft) was attempting to turn westbound on 122nd and crashed into a citizen’s vehicle (2006 Toyota Tacoma Pick Up) that had stopped east bound on 122nd. The driver and passenger of the Toyota were transported to Tampa General Hospital complaining of back pain. Deputy Craft was not injured. The suspect vehicle then fled to the area of 113th and Ola where the driver bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver was apprehended a short distance away in a wooded area.
