Charges: Possession of Child Pornography (80 counts, with enhancement to second-degree felony)
An investigation into the distribution of child pornography via the Internet resulted in HCSO vice detectives executing a search warrant on November 10, 2010 around 7 a.m. at a residence at 810 Bluegrass Lane in Brandon. Inside the home, detectives located three desktop computers and seven laptop computers.
Detectives conducted a preview scan of one of the computers which the suspect said he owned and they discovered at least 80 images depicting children aged 12 and younger in lewd positions or poses. Based on the age of the boys, who were under 12, and the number of images of them engaged in oral sex, by law the suspect's charges were enhanced to second-degree felonies.
The suspect told detectives he had downloaded pornography of children as young as 7 years old. The suspect is a guidance counselor at Brandon High School. He was arrested and taken to the Orient Road Jail.
This investigation is ongoing, and investigators will be performing forensic examinations of all of the computers. Additional charges are pending.
