Suspect leaves bank with undisclosed amount of cash only to have dye pack explode 40 feet from the entrance.

At approximately 2:26 p.m., the suspect entered the Wachovia Bank located at 12233 North Florida Avenue and made a demand for money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency the suspect fled from the bank on foot. Approximately 40 feet south of the bank entrance, the dye pack exploded causing the suspect to drop part of the money. He then continued from the scene on foot. Within minutes of the robbery, Deputy Orlys O’Quendo on patrol in the area observed an individual which matched the description of the bank robbery suspect. The suspect was just east of Florida Avenue in a parking lot on the north side of the road. Deputy O’Quendo detained the suspect, who was positively identified by the bank clerk as the robbery suspect. Hoard was taken into custody without incident and the money was recovered.
