Today, Hillsborough County deputies were providing the escort service for the funeral of the fallen soldier that was killed in Iraq. During the procession, in the area of Reynolds Street West and John Martin Street the driver of the 2005 truck exited the parking lot of the Dairy Queen and cut into the funeral procession line. Once in the line, she decided to make a left to exit the procession and turned into the path of the motor unit that was assisting with the funeral.
Deputy Daryl Bowden was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Shannon Lima-Jones was cited for: Failure to Yield to a Funeral Procession, Failure to Yield Right of Way and No proof of Insurance.
