Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual observed in the surveillance video. On July 1, 2010 at approximately 2:10 p.m., the suspect entered the Gordon’s Jewelers at the Westfield Brandon Shopping Mall. He acted as though he was interested in a 20-inch gold chain. He wanted something longer so the sales clerk added an 8-inch bracelet. The suspect then asked to try it on to see the length. After it was on his neck, the suspect ran out of the store with both items. The value of the items stolen is estimated at $5,400. The suspect was observed by witnesses entering a faded red Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.
Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
