    Armed Robbery (2 counts)
    Grand Theft
    Felony Fleeing and Eluding

This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m. the suspect approached the first victim at the Publix located at Ehrlich and Gunn Highway. The suspect told the victim that he needed $1,100. He robbed the victim of cash and then had her get into her vehicle where he drove her to her bank (Regions Bank-8620 Citrus Park Dr) across the street from  Westfield Citrus Mall and had her withdraw $400 from her account. He then drove her back to the Publix where he had her exit her vehicle and then he explained to her that he was taking her car, but he would take care of it and leave it at a Publix on Dale Mabry. According to the victim, the suspect was very polite.

The suspect then drove around for approximately one hour before approaching the second victim that was at a Bank of America ATM located at Lake Carroll Way. The suspect approached the victim, robbed her of money and then had her withdraw an additional $100 from her ATM.

The suspect fled in the first victims stolen Mazda where he was spotted by an off duty deputy in the area of Armenia Avenue and Busch Blvd. The deputy followed the suspect, and in the area of Dale Mabry and Linebaugh the deputy activated his emergency lights. The suspect fled through the Publix parking lot and drove into an apartment complex parking lot (Grande Old Carrollwood) where he bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies pursued the suspect on foot, and after deploying a taser the suspect was taken into custody.

Deputies have not established the reason why the suspect was asking for $1,100.
