Shooting Victim Identified As Detectives Continue To Sort Through Evidence
Detectives continue sorting through discrepancies in how shooting occurred.

On September 26, 2010 at 3:58 p.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at the Twin Lakes Subdivision Playground(Partridge Point Trail) on Bloomingdale Avenue. The victim was playing basketball with his 8-year-old daughter while an unrelated male juvenile was riding his skateboard on the basketball court. The suspect, who resides in the area, approached the victim armed with a handgun on his person and a verbal argument ensued over the male juvenile riding his skateboard on the basketball court. During the verbal argument, the suspect and victim became involved in a physical confrontation and the victim was shot and died at the scene. Detectives have interviewed multiple individuals that may have witnessed the event and those witnesses have provided detectives with various versions of what transpired. Detectives will continue to sort through the discrepancies and continue to analyze physical evidence that was recovered at the scene. Detectives are working with the State Attorney’s Office who will be reviewing the case while the investigation continues.
