On July 30, 2011 at approximately 12:30 a.m., HCSO received a 911 indicating shots were fired at or near 5127 Hwy 41 South in Riverview. When the first deputies arrived, they found over 100 people in the streets running in all directions. Deputies began searching for victims and quickly located one female victim deceased on scene. A second male victim was located and transported to Tampa General Hospital where he died a short time after he arrived. Both victims suffered from at least one gunshot wound.

Preliminary information is that a large group of teens had gathered for some type of party when shots rang out resulting in the two victims being shot.

Detectives have arrested and charged Tyrell Sidney Bragg with the murder of Iesha Washington who was shot and killed at a dance party on July 30, 2011 at 12:30 am. Deputies have recovered a 380 cal. handgun they believe was used in her murder. Bragg has been booked into the Hillsborough County Jail where he remains with no bond.

During this investigation, detectives and crime scene technician discovered empty shell casings coming from a second handgun with a different caliber then that which has been seized by detectives. This information is indicating possibly a second shooter was firing a handgun and may be the handgun used to kill Craig Thompson.

We have a lot of unanswered questions however detectives are continuing to investigate this incident to bring justice to both victims and their families. Detectives need anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or have any information about the investigation to please come forward or call Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.

    The investigation continues.
