    Details:

On August 6, 2011 at approximately 5:45 a.m. HSCO District 2 Street Crimes Deputies spotted two men exiting a business complex near US 301 and Palm River Road with an air conditioner unit loaded in the back of a Dodge Durango.
Deputies were conducting surveillance near the area due to a recent rash of outdoor air conditioner unit thefts

Deputies called for additional personnel to surround the suspect's vehicle for a planned traffic stop. An unmarked patrol vehicle followed the suspect vehicle to SR 60 and Falkenburg Road where additional Sheriff's vehicle
converged and conducted the traffic stop.

The suspect's vehicle was surrounded when the driver of the suspect vehicle accelerated and rammed one of the unmarked cars creating an exit point.

A pursuit initiated with marked patrol vehicles for several miles when the suspect's vehicle stopped near Old East Hillsborough Ave and Pine Street in Seffner. Deputies exited their patrol vehicles and while approaching the
suspect's vehicle, he accelerated again and rammed a marked patrol vehicle.

Deputies continued pursuing the suspect's vehicle onto Interstate 4 (eastbound) where at McIntosh exit ramp; the suspect lost control of his vehicle and rolled over on the embankment. The driver and a passenger were taken into custody without further incident.

The two suspects were not injured in the crash and have been transported to District 2 for questioning. There were no other vehicles damaged and no deputies were injured.

Note: A second crash occurred near the initial crash scene when a motorist was slowing and was rear ended by another motorist who was not paying attention. That crash resulted in minor injuries.
