Howard Earl Warren turned himself into Hillsborough County deputies this afternoon at Orient Road Jail. He is being booked on charges of Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Death. An arrest warrant had been issued December 9, 2011.
Previous News Release 11-288:
At approximately, 12:30 a.m., deputies were notified of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the corner of 11th Street N and 124th Avenue in Tampa. When deputies arrived on the scene, they located an adult female critically injured in the roadway.
Paramedics with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The Eye On Crime video shows the pedestrian walking partially across 124th Avenue when she stumbles and falls into the middle of the roadway. The victim remains laying in the roadway until she is run over by a southbound vehicle which flees the scene. The cameras show the vehicle turning west on 124th Avenue and then south on Nebraska. The vehicle appears to be a light colored early 2000 Nissan Altima 4-door.
