Deputies Respond to Dispute - Make Three arrests and Issue Warrant for Suspect
On February 11, 2011 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Hillsborough deputies responded to a complaint of a dispute in the front yard of 5110 Lawnton Court in Tampa.
According to the caller they stated that they observed three adult males in the yard and that it appeared that one of the males was brandishing a shotgun and had pointed it at the other two males. As deputies arrived they observed two males leaving in a pick up truck. Deputies stopped the vehicle at the corner of Leverington and Lowell to determine if they were the victim or the individual with the gun. While deputies were talking to the two males in the truck, they saw that there were several individuals on the front lawn at 5110 Lawnton Court. Deputies then observed all the individuals run into the house and as deputies walked up to the residence they heard what sounded like the pump action of a shotgun. Deputies on scene then called for backup. A perimeter was set up and deputies attempted to make contact with the individuals inside the residence. Deputies were able to reach one female inside the residence via phone and was told that she and 4 other individuals were the only ones in the house. Neighbors told deputies that they thought they saw the suspect run out the back door of the residence. SWAT responded to the scene and negotiators attempted to make contact with anyone in the house. The negotiations continued for several hours until 2 adult females (Aisel Burgos, DOB 11-15-79 and Lara Villavicencio, DOB 3-15-68) came out of the house along with 4 juveniles. Burgos and Villavicencio were uncooperative with deputies and refused to provide information on the whereabouts of the suspect or if there were any other individuals still inside the residence. Negotiators continued to try to make contact with anyone in the house which met with negative results. After approximately 1 1/2 hours another female (Glenda Gallego, DOB 9-24-83) came out and she also was uncooperative and would not provide the whereabouts of the suspect. The motive for the initial dispute between the suspect and the two male victims (Mario Exposito and Rafael Elvira) is still unclear. It does appear that all the adults were at the 5110 Lawnton Court address drinking.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on February 12, 2011 SWAT made entry to the residence and discovered that the suspect, Victor Benavides was not inside. Warrants have been issued for his arrest. There were two male juveniles ages 7 and 10 that were turned over to Child Protection and two male juveniles' ages 1 and 13 that were released to family members. The adult females were all transported to the Orient Road Jail.
