Dealing in Stolen Property
On January 3, 2011 at approximately 11:02 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Isleton Drive and Canoga park Drive in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Deputies spotted a silver Chevrolet Avalanche in the area of Canoga Park Drive and Caliente Drive, which matched the suspicious vehicle description. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and discovered 15 manhole covers in the truck, along with a 24-inch pry bar. Suspect Michael Rowe was in the bed of the truck and Pierce was driving. Rowe admitted to stealing the manhole covers out of the Bloomingdale West Subdivision for the purpose of selling them for recycling to pay his truck payment. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Deputies then placed the manhole covers back in the various locations they were stolen from.
