Robbery By Sudden Snatching
On June 22, 2011 deputies responded to the Walgreens Pharmacy at 2110 East Highway 60 in Valrico in reference to business robbery. The suspect entered the store, preceded to the pharmacy section where he inquired about purchasing syringes. The suspect attempted to snatch the syringes from the pharmacist, a struggle ensued, but the suspect was able to get the syringes and flee the store. The deputies discovered that the suspect had fled the store, leaving his cell phone behind. The deputy utilized the suspect’s phone and called the last numbers that the suspect had called and reached a TECO auditor, who was currently at the suspect’s residence, conducting an electricity audit. The TECO auditor observed the suspect come running into the house shortly after the robbery. Deputies responded to the suspect’s residence where he originally was hiding in the attic. Deputies were able to talk the suspect out of the attic where he was taken into custody and charged with Robbery.
