We will also recognize recent retirees, employees for longevity of service, and honor citizens who helped save lives and who helped us catch criminals. Member of the United States Coast Guard will also be honored.

    Here are a few highlights:

Ms. Toni Dye and Ms. Kelly Heath will receive a HCSO Citizen Award for rushing to a nearby trailer on fire and removing three small children ages 1,2 and 3.

Mr. Mark Bowman and Mr. Ken Nailling will receive a HCSO Citizen Award for their actions which led to the capture and identity of three burglary suspects.

Master Deputy Thomas Chavez and Deputy Jeffrey Humphrey will receive a HCSO Distinguished Performance Award for their efforts in identifying a pattern of criminal activity involving a prolific gang, analyzing this pattern and implementing an operational plan involving all units within District III effectively reducing crimes reported between 2009 and 2010 by 24.1%.

Master Corporal Stu Gray, Deputy Pablo Rio-Hernandez and Deputy Robert Sanchez will receive HCSO Lifesaving Award for their response to a “person down” call. Upon arrival, a male was lying on the ground not breathing and had no pulse. Master Corporal Stu Gray retrieved his Automatic Electronic Defibrillator and initiated a shock and CPR was initiated.
