At approximately 6:00 p.m. a deputy observed the suspect driving a blue 4 door Volvo and the vehicle was driving down the middle of two lanes of traffic northbound on the Veterans. The deputy stopped the vehicle and immediately smelled marijuana. While the deputy was talking to the suspect, the suspect fled and almost struck the deputy, causing the deputy to jump out of the way to keep from being struck. The suspect fled where he struck another deputy's vehicle in the area of Hutchinson and the Veterans causing approximately $5,000 damage (no injuries) The suspect vehicle exited off the veterans and in the area of Cheval and Dale Mabry he sideswiped a BMW driving by Glyn Thornhill, DOB 8-13-56 of 4826 Cheval Blvd. Tampa. Passenger was Tammy Thornhill, DOB 1-10-65 wife of the driver. There were no injuries and approximately $500 damage to the BMW. The pursuit was terminated at this point as deputies had identified the driver, Demilo Morrow. A few minutes later deputies were notified of a crash that had occurred on County Line Road at Highway 41. The crash occurred due to the suspect vehicle running a red light and the driver of a Hyundai which was southbound on Highway 41 having to take evasion action to miss the suspect vehicle which caused the Hyundai to strike a BMW SUV which was northbound on Highway 41, turning west onto County Line Road.
The suspect was located and arrested in Pasco County and will be booked into the Pasco County Jail.
