Law enforcement officials are teaming up to remove unused or expired medications from the home.
As part of our ongoing effort to crack down on illegal pill mills and prevent prescription drug abuse, we are taking part in the Operation Medicine Cabinet Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. On October 29th, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Tampa Police Department and the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance, will collect unused or expired prescription medications from citizens to prevent potentially dangerous drugs from getting into the wrong hands. The unused prescription drugs will be collected at two Sweetbay locations and at MOSI on October 29th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Citizens will be able to drop off any prescription medications they no longer use and can remain anonymous, with no questions asked.
The Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance supports this take back initiative and will provide volunteers and educational materials at the collection sites.
