    Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Deputies Involved In Traffic Crash

    Deputy had to be extricated from the vehicle.

    Assigned to Patrol District 2

    Driver:

    Teresa Tymes
    DOB: 10/17/1979
    3466 High Hampton Circle
    Tampa, Florida

    Details:

    On April 18, 2012, at approximately 5:45 p.m., two uniformed HCSO patrol deputies riding as a two man unit were involved in a serious traffic crash with another vehicle in the intersection of N. Falkenburg and Windhorst Road.

    Deputy Hannaford was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he was treated and released. Deputy Maffei received minor injuries and he was taken to TGH where he was treated and released. The driver of the 2002 Ford Taurus Teresa Tymes was not injured.

    Preliminary information at this time is that the HCSO patrol vehicle was northbound on Falkenburg Rd and had entered the left turn lane at Windhorst Road to turn into the HCSO District 2 parking lot.

    The 2002 Ford Taurus was southbound on Falkenburg Road when it struck the passenger side of the patrol vehicle in the middle of the intersection.

    Traffic Homicide investigators are on scene conducting interviews and processing the crash scene. At this time no determination has been made as to the cause of the accident or who may have been at fault. Those facts will come out once the investigation is complete.
