Hillsborough detectives learned that second suspect wanted in connection with the homicide had fled to New Jersey after the shooting. At the request of HCSO detectives, Kenny Silva was located and arrested in Plainsfield, New Jersey by U. S. Marshals Service on an unrelated outstanding warrant out of Greenfield, Massachusetts for aggravated assault with a weapon. On July 25, 2012, HCSO detectives traveled to Essex County, New Jersey and interviewed Kenny Silva. After discussing the facts of the case with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Kenny Silva, charging him with Second Degree Murder with a firearm, Attempted Second Degree Murder with a Firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm. Silva is currently incarcerated in Essex County, New Jersey and will await extradition back to Hillsborough County.

On July 14, 2012 at approximately 3 a.m., HCSO patrol deputies responded to Whiskey North Bar, 11921 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Carrollwood regarding a shooting in progress. When deputies arrived, they observed victim Pablo Bonilla and a second victim with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
Homicide detectives have established the following summary of facts;
On July 14, 2012, shortly after 1 a.m., Pablo Bonilla got into a verbal confrontation with the defendant Jordan McKenna while inside Whiskey North Bar located at 11921 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Carrollwood.
Just after 3 a.m., Pablo Bonilla, his girlfriend, victim # 2 (not being identified) and several other individuals/witnesses were returning to their vehicle after the club closed.
At that same time, a Dodge Charger blue in color driven by Jordan McKenna stopped next to the victims/ witnesses in the east end of the parking lot and an unknown white male got out of the vehicle and fired multiple rounds from a handgun striking Bonilla and the second victim in the upper body.
The shooter then got back into McKenna's vehicle and both men fled the scene. Both shooting victims were taken to St. Joseph Hospital where Bonilla later died and the second victim was treated and has since been released.
Detectives obtained a description of the suspect vehicle, a dark blue Dodge Charger, and the identity of the driver, Jordan McKenna, from witnesses. A warrant was issued for Jordan McKenna for Accessory after the Fact to 2nd Degree Murder w/Firearm and Accessory after the Fact to Attempted 2nd Degree Murder w/Firearm.
Homicide Detectives responded to 112 Seven Oaks Dr. Mulberry, FL in an attempt to contact Jordan McKenna. With assistance from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, McKenna was taken into custody without incident.
HCSO detectives conducted a search of McKenna's bedroom and a 2010 Dodge Charger blue in color. The Polk County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit processed the bedroom and vehicle as a courtesy for HCSO Detectives.
McKenna was booked into the Polk County Jail where he will await transfer back to Hillsborough County.
The investigation is continuing as detectives will continue attempting to identify and locate the shooter.
