    Details:

On August 19, 2012 two Hillsborough County School Buses were stolen from Miles Elementary School located at 317 East 124th Avenue in Tampa.

The original information released was that both buses were last seen headed north on Interstate 75. Detectives have since determined through investigative leads that one bus was last known to be in the area of Marion County, Florida while the other in the area of Pasco County, Florida.

Detectives believe these buses may still be mobile and have issued a statewide alert. Detectives are asking the public to be vigilant for any abandoned "Hillsborough County School" bus parked or abandoned in any unusual locations or being used in any suspicious manner.

As a matter of protocol since September 11, 2001, Department of Homeland Security was provided the information on the stolen buses.
At this time there is no reason to believe that the theft is in anyway related to the upcoming Republican National Convention; however we are working closely with our RNC security partners in keeping them informed.

Anyone with any information reference the whereabouts of the buses or the suspects is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the buses or the individuals responsible and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
