Recovered Stolen Property:
- 2006 Utility Trailer and power tools stolen June 2, 2012
- 2005 Utility Pace American Trailer stolen between January 14 and January 17, 2012
- 2006 Utility Emerson Trailer stolen between January 14 and January 17, 2012
Hillsborough detectives were investigating three grand theft cases involving stolen trailers. During the course of the investigation detectives developed leads in regards to suspect information relating to the grand theft from Big Bend Self-Storage which occurred on June 2, 2012. On June 11, 2012, detectives responded to 11518 Bullfrog Creek Road in Gibsonton and made contact with the suspect, James Tavolaccio. Tavolaccio shoved the detective, fled on foot and was apprehended a short distance from his residence. Detectives recovered the three stolen utility trailers that were in his possession. There was a Dodge truck on the property that had the VIN numbers removed. There was also evidence that vehicles were being disassembled (chopped) on the property.
