    Update To Drive-By Shooting In Dover

    Driver in shooting suffers fatal injury and detectives make an arrest.

    Details:
     

    On June 17, 2012, shortly after 1:00 a.m., deputies responded to 3418 Lindsey Street in Dover after a caller reported multiple shots fired at this residence during a drive-by shooting.

    Details revealed that Jose Luis Hernandez and his cousin Pedro Hernandez along with another individual were riding together during Sunday morning's drive-by shooting when Pedro Hernandez fired numerous shots from his 40 cal handgun towards multiple individuals including victim Jose Navarro at 3418 Lindsey Street in Dover.

    Jose Navarro and other individuals were having a graduation party at his residence when Navarro returned fire with a shotgun and fatally wounded Jose Hernandez. Jose Hernandez who was the driver of the car, received a fatal gunshot wound to the head and died June 18 at Tampa General Hospital.

    Numerous individuals attending the party at 3418 Lindsey Street were known "Sur 13" gang members. The Hernandez cousins were known "Dover Loco's" gang member.

    Gang enforcement and prevention are a priority of Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee and he will continue to move swiftly to combat any gang activity in Hillsborough County.

    The investigation continues.
