On March 15 & 16, 2012, The Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office District I, Tampa Police Department District II and Temple Terrace Police Department joined forces and conducted a joint operation to address violent crime and quality of life issues. This operation focused on career offenders, offenders with active warrants and quality of life related crimes, including traffic enforcement, narcotics law violations and prostitution.
The operational areas covered included areas covered by each of the participating agencies in the Northern section of Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa and the City of Temple Terrace. All agencies dedicated specialized units and resources to the operation.
This operation was extremely successful and many offenders with extensive criminal histories were arrested by the three agencies. At the conclusion of operation a total of 82 offenders were arrested on various violence related crimes to include Burglary, Grand Theft, Felon in Possession of Firearms, Aggravated Battery and a variety of quality of life crimes.
