At approximately 10:43 a.m. Hillsborough deputies responded to a road rage incident in the area of Heather Lakes Blvd. and Barmere Lane in Brandon. The incident started in the area of Providence when the driver of the Nissan Altima (Charles Mabry, Jr.) did not use his turn signal causing the driver of the Mercedes (Cheng Hsieh) to start yelling at him. The two vehicles continued on while continuing to yell at each other. When they got to the area of Heather Lakes Blvd. and Barmere Lane in Brandon they stopped in the middle of the road and both exited their vehicles. Cheng Hsieh was armed with a stun gun and walked toward Mabry. Mabry started to leave, then put his vehicle in reverse and tried to strike Hsieh, who was able to jump out of the way. Mabry then drove his vehicle into Hsieh’s Mercedes in the left driver’s side door. Cheng then armed himself with a baseball bat and struck Mabry several times in the head, face and arms. Mabry was transported to Brandon Hospital via Fire Rescue.
