    Samuel Lee Partin
    DOB: 2-25-51
    1915 Erin Brooke Drive
    Valrico, FL

On March 27, 2012, between 0830 and 0930 a.m. at the residence of 1915 Erin Brooke Drive in Valrico, the defendant Shedrick Partin, did strike the victim, Samuel Partin in the head multiple times with a Stanley hammer and a white door stop, causing head trauma, while the victim was lying in bed. The victim, who is the father of the defendant, died from these injuries.

During the execution of a Court Authorized Search Warrant at said residence, a pair of gray and black boots and blue jean pants were recovered inside of the residence in the defendant’s bedroom with what appeared to be blood stains. The defendant was observed leaving the residence wearing this clothing at approximately 8:30 a.m., while the victim was still alive. The defendant was also last seen wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with bright designs on the front of it. A second witness observed the defendant returning to the neighborhood wearing this same sweatshirt. This sweatshirt was later found and recovered by detectives at the address of 2928 Kelly Ridge Lane in Tampa. The sweatshirt was inspected and found to have suspected blood stains. The hammer and a white door stop were also recovered inside the residence with what appeared to be blood transfer.

An autopsy examination was conducted on the decedent at the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office who performed an autopsy, determined the cause of death to be blunt impact to the head, with cerebral contusions and lacerations to the brain; and the manner of death to be homicidal violence.

The FDLE lab results revealed that areas of the black hooded sweatshirt belonging to the defendant matched the defendant’s DNA profile.  Also, the blood recovered from the sweatshirt matched the DNA profile of the victim. The FDLE lab results also revealed that the blood found on the Stanley hammer and the white door stop matched the DNA profile of the victim.

The additional charge of 2nd degree murder was placed on Shedrick Partin at the Hillsborough County jail where he was being held on violation of probation charges.
