On November 3, 2012 at approximately 1:00 a.m. at 6646 Marina Point Village Court, Apt. #104, the defendant was observed behind an apartment building in the bushes, concealing himself. The defendant was approximately one foot from a window to a residence not known to the defendant. The area behind the apartment building is not a common walk area and does not have a walk path. Once confronted by deputies, the defendant stood up from a crouching position and walked out from between the building and the bushes. The defendant could not provide any logical reason as to why he was in the bushes.
The apartment where the defendant was discovered is the same apartment where a burglary had occurred around the middle of October. In that case, the 65 year old female victim awoke to a male suspect standing over her in her bedroom. When the victim screamed, the suspect fled. The suspect had gained entry through a rear window.
There have been 7 incidents in the apartment complex where individuals have discovered the rear window to their apartments open and screens removed. It is unknown if entry was made in any of those cases. Deputies were working surveillance at the apartment complex last night when they discovered the suspect.
