Falkenburg Road Jail
On September 11, 2012 Falkenburg Road Jail inmate, Horace Johnson became ill. Johnson was being treated for a pre-existing medical condition at the jail’s clinic when he became unresponsive. Medical personnel and deputies attempted to resuscitate Johnson and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived and transported him to Brandon Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the death in accordance with agency policy and Johnson’s next of kin have been notified.
Johnson was transferred to Hillsborough County from the Manatee County Jail on August 20, 2012 on a Contempt of Court Warrant related to child support.
