At approximately 12:00 (noon) today, April 16, 2013 a 911 call was received from a parent of the child, after they discovered that the child in the vehicle still buckled in his car seat. Preliminary information at this time is that the family had been visiting with relatives and returned home this morning at approximately 4:00 a.m. The father thought the mother had taken the child out of the car seat and the mother thought that the father had taken the child out. According to the family, it is common for them to keep late hours and for the child to sleep until 11:00 or 12:00. The family has 4 children ages 8, 7, 3 and two. At approximately noon today, the parents went in to check on the 2 year old and discovered him missing. They then realized that neither had brought the child in from the vehicle. They discovered him still strapped in
his car seat.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and transported the child to Florida Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
