On April 23, 2013 at approximately 2:30 pm, an HCSO deputy was working extra-duty at Terrell Sessums Elementary School located at 11525 Ramble Creek Drive. The deputy was standing near the front entrance of the school near the main office when he heard several children yelling about a man with a gun.

The deputy was then approached by a school crossing guard, who indicated she just witnessed a white male adult holding a black semi auto handgun walking on the sidewalk along Ramble Creek Drive directly in front of the elementary school.

The deputy immediately saw a man later identified as Dillon Conn holding a black handgun walking northbound on Ramble Creek Dr toward Symmes Road. Conn was making no effort to conceal the weapon that he was holding in his right hand. Conn appeared agitated, as he exhibit the weapon in a careless, threatening manner.

The deputy confronted Conn with his weapon drawn and gave him clear instructions to stop walking towards him and to drop the gun onto the ground. Conn stopped and screamed to the deputy that he would have to shoot him because he was not going to put the gun down. Dillon Conn remained motionless, and the deputy ordered him to drop the gun.

Dillon Conn then complied and dropped the firearm into the grass. Conn was then handcuffed and arrested. Once arrested Conn made the statement numerous times that he wanted the deputy to kill him, and that it was not worth it to live anymore.

The deputy responded back to where Dillon Conn had dropped the firearm on the ground. The deputy located a medium caliber semi automatic handgun, but upon closer inspection the deputy discovered the firearm was a gas powered BB pistol.

The gun did not display a red tip on the end of the barrel that most BB pistols have. Dillon Conn was transported to the Orient Road Jail for booking without further incident.
