    Details:

On November 22, 2013 at about 4:40 pm, suspects Clyde B. Johnson and Anthony M. Wahba walked into the International Diamond Center at 10330 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.

Clyde Johnson who was armed with a 9mm handgun ordered five employees to the ground while Anthony Wahba began smashing the glass tops of the display cases with a hammer and filling a bag with Rolex watches and diamonds. While Wahba filled the bag with jewelery, Johnson was forcing three employees at gunpoint to turn over their wallets.

Just prior to both men fleeing from the business, Clyde Johnson fired one round from his 9mm handgun that struck the ground and ricocheted through an office window. No one was injured and both men drove away from the robbery in a black Volkswagen that was parked outside near the store.

Just over an hour after the robbery occurred, Anthony Wahba was seen on surveillance photos at a 7-11 Store in Dover Florida using a stolen credit card belonging to one of the robbery victims.

HCSO detectives assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit became involved in the investigation and immediately began working to identify and apprehend these suspects. As a result of their efforts, both men were arrested in the Orlando area on December 4, 2013.

With the assistance of the Orlando Police Department, HCSO detectives apprehended Clyde Johnson and seized a 9mm handgun believed to be used in the robbery at Johnson's Orlando home.

Johnson was booked into the Orange County Jail where he is currently being held until he is brought back to Hillsborough County to face the listed charges.

HCSO detectives with assistance of the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, arrested Anthony Wahba at a Florida Department of Correction Probation Office in Kissimmee Florida when he arrived for his scheduled appointment with his probation officer.

Wahba will held in the Osceola County Jail until he is brought back to Hillsborough County to face the listed charges. Detectives have recovered a portion of the stolen jewelry taken in the store robbery.

As this investigation continues, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will be working closely with HCSO. This investigation illustrates ATF's commitment on their "Frontline"approach to reducing violent crime in our communities.
