Deputies Win Wawa’s “Finest vs. Bravest” Hoagie Building Contest:
On December 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies competed with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue firefighters in Wawa’s “Finest vs. Bravest” Hoagie Building Contest.
The Hoagie Building Contest was part of the grand opening festivities for their newest store located at 5702 W. Waters Avenue in Tampa. Wawa donated $1,000.00 to each team’s charity, with a trophy going to the winner.
In this battle of will, bravery and skill of sandwich building, each agency sent five representatives to participate. The winner would be the team that could build the most hoagies in 3 minutes.
Of course our deputies won!!!! Representing the Patrol Division was Deputy Troy Fallin and Deputy Robert Harrop. Representing the Detention Division was Sgt. Jason Green, Detention Deputy Kevin McLeod and Detention Deputy Hector Mota.
Major J.R. Burton was on hand to accept the $1,000.00 check for the Lynn Sowers Memorial Foundation.
