Quarterly Awards Ceremony to Honor Employees and Citizens:
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Quarterly Awards Ceremony is set for December 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Falkenburg Road Jail Assembly Room. HCSO personnel will be honored for valor and exceptional work performance. We will also recognize recent retirees, employees for longevity of service and honor citizens who helped save lives and who helped to catch criminals. Civilian Employee of the Quarter will be recognized along with Deputy of the Quarter. Citizen and Business awards will also be presented at the ceremony.
Here are a few highlights:
Several employees with over 30 years of service to the Sheriff’s Office will be recognized.
A Life Saving Award will be presented to a deputy whose quick response saved the lives of two individuals that he pulled from a vehicle that was submerged and filling with water.
Another deputy will be recognized for his heroic life saving efforts when he was off duty and jumped into the river to save two elderly individuals that were tubing and had fallen off of their tubes and were struggling to make it back to shore.
Outstanding Squad Award will recognize the squad that identified criminals that were responsible for a series of thefts that resulted in the loss of over 1 million dollars in equipment and the recovery of over $302,000 of that equipment.
