Kailey L Tencza

10th grader at Sickles
On December 10, 2013, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office was notified by the father of a student who attends Gaither High School stating that his daughter had received a electronic text message and phone calls from a friend, Kailey Tencza warning her not to attend school on December 11 because she was going to cause physical violence towards certain people at Gaither High School.
This student took the threats serious and informed her father because she felt Kailey is capable of doing this act. In the past, Kailey has told her that she has access to firearms and has shot them at the range.
Deputies responded to Kailey Tencza's residence and spoke to Kailey and her mother about the allegations. During Kailey's interview, she admitted to sending the text messages with the threats but said she never intended on hurting anyone. Kailey was arrested and transported to Juvenile Assessment Center. There were no firearms found in the Kailey home.
We will continue to work closely with the Hillsborough County School System as well as Kailey's mother as this investigation continues.
