Through intensive interviews, detectives have pieced together the events that led up to the large fight in Ruskin on February 28, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
On February 27, 2013, Luis Serrano and the 15-year-old daughter of Victoria Davis were involved in a fight at Little Elk Ave and Trent Creek Drive which is in the same neighborhood as the disturbance.
During the February 27, 2013 fight, Luis Serrano picked up a stick and struck the 15-year-old girl in the eye causing minor injury.
On February 28, 2013, Victoria Davis the mother of the 15-year-old victim involved in the fight drove the 15 year old and her 17-year-old sister followed by a second car load of young males to 7536 Maroon Peak Drive where Serrano and his friends were hanging out on the street to retaliate for the fight involving her daughter and Serrano.
Victoria Davis and her group got out of their vehicles and charged towards Serrano and his group which resulted in the February 28, 2013 melee.
During this melee, Victoria Davis was witnessed encouraging her two daughters to engage in the fight. During the duration of the fight, the two groups traveled a short distance through the neighborhood with Davis following along yelling "get them" while pointing out Serrano and his associates. This fight ultimately involved with gunshots being fired by an unknown person. Fortunately it appears no one was hit.
Victoria Davis’s first report of her daughter being struck in the eye by Serrano was on February 28, 2013, as she was arrested for the incident. She did not make a police report at the time of that incident. Both sides have implicated the other in the person(s) who shot off rounds from a firearm.
Victoria Davis was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail, while Luis Serrano was booked into the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.
The investigation continues in attempting to determine who was the person(s) shooting the gun.
