On January 17, 2013 at approximately 4:48 p.m., a deputy was responding to a prowler call at 630 Jerry Smith Road. The victim observed a man walking around his vehicle and then observed the vehicle door open. The contents of the glove compartment were dumped on the floorboard and the vehicle’s ignition was damaged.
As the deputy canvassed the area he observed a subject matching the description of the suspect in a vehicle on April Lane. The suspect fled on foot and the deputy gave chase and apprehended the suspect a short distance away. The female passenger fled during this time.
The vehicle the suspects were driving had been stolen from Polk County. Upon inspection of the vehicle, deputies located approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry, two shotguns, camera equipment, as well as other property.
The suspect identified as Terry Edmondson was also in possession of methamphetamine. Edmondson has been arrested 33 times. He was released from Florida State Prison in September 2012.
