On January 24, 2013, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will host a Safe Neighborhood Symposium involving various speakers and guest. Project Safe Neighborhoods is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun and gang crime in America by networking existing local programs that target gun and providing these programs with additional tools necessary to be successful. Since the inception in 2001, approximately $2 billion dollars has been committed to this initiative.
Approximately 135 individuals from various agencies are expected to attend the day long training session.
Welcome remarks will be made by U.S. Attorney Robert O’Neill and Sheriff David Gee.
Speakers - Inspector Harold Rochon, Commanding Officer in Charge of the 5th Precinct of Detroit Police Department, Detective Dan Jonas, Lakeland Police Department and Kenneth Bell, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation.
