1931 137th Avenue E
On January 23, 2013 at approximately 2:15 a.m., the suspect, Kenneth Render went to the victim’s residence located at 1931 137th Avenue E. The victim had been previously involved in a physical altercation earlier in the evening with his niece who is also the suspect’s girlfriend.
Upon arriving to the victim’s residence, the suspect attempted to enter the victim’s residence by forcing the front door open. The victim attempted to block the door with his body. The victim and the suspect continued to fight over control of the door until the suspect fired (5) shots from a firearm from the exterior of the front door. The bullets traveled through the door and struck the victim three times. The suspect fled the scene. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The victim remains in critical condition.
The victim positively identified the suspect as the person who shot him. At approximately 7:56 a.m., the suspect was located at his residence and taken into HCSO custody. Post Miranda the suspect admitted to the offenses.
