HCSO and Hillsborough County Code Enforcement conclude a two week campaign targeting the Wimauma area.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office District Four personnel including the Motor Units, Community Resource Deputies and Street Crime Deputies assisted Hillsborough County Code Enforcement Officers in a two week operation targeting the Wimauma area. The purpose of the operation was to improve the quality of life for the residents of the area. While Code Enforcement Officers targeted graffiti, trash and unsafe structures, District Four personnel concentrated on traffic enforcement, narcotic violations, suspects with outstanding warrants and quality of life issues. At the conclusion of the operation, Code Enforcement personnel had condemned three residences, removed 423 tires weighing nearing 13,000 pounds and collected over 62 tons of trash. District Four personnel made 223 traffic stops, issued 148 traffic citations and made 44 arrests. Criminal charges included possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, numerous narcotic and traffic offenses, as well as a fugitive warrant from the State of Massachusetts.
