On March 20, 2013 at approximately 12:55 a.m., at the intersection of Hillsborough Avenue and Longboat Boulevard the victim was traveling eastbound on Hillsborough. The victim struck Philip Jackson with the mirror on his vehicle as he was crossing the street. The victim stopped to check on Jackson and at which time Jackson started to punch the victim in the face. Jackson continued to punch the victim while he was on the ground demanding the victim's money. Jackson then went inside the victim's 2007 Toyota Camry attempting to remove anything of value. Jackson then brandished a handgun, pointing it in the air and demanded the victim leave. The arrestee then fired one shot into the air and then fled into an apartment located at A4-6326 Newton Circle. Deputies surrounded the apartment and made contact with the arrestee. Post miranda, he admitted to the offense.
The victim was treated and released at a local hospital for minor cuts and bruises. The arrestee was treated for minor abrasions and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.
