Between the dates of 05/19/12 and 03/18/13, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office observed numerous graffiti tags on street signs and traffic boxes, removing them as they were discovered. Local businesses were the target of choice. Deputies responded to and investigated 13 complaints of graffiti throughout the central Brandon area. The suspects used the graffiti tags “Swingset,” “Dash,” “Krast,” and “Rayek.” The suspects painted the tags on business walls, fences, street signs , traffic boxes and a utility trailer. The graffiti spree consisted of two juveniles and one adult identified as Luis Alexander Lopez. A local business captured one of the suspects spray painting the graffiti tag “Swingset” on a wall. Deputies were able to identify and locate the suspect from the video. All three suspects were interviewed by deputies resulting in 25 counts of criminal mischief $200-$1000.
