    Details:

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 25, 2013, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies along with Hillsborough County Fire responded to a residential fire at the address of 6603 Timber Brook Court in Tampa.

Some neighbors were outside of their homes playing basketball when they saw smoke coming from the open garage at 6603 Timber Brook Court. When the neighbors ran over the house, the garage door closed. The neighbors were able to get in the garage and pull both mother and daughter out of the house to safety. Two dogs were also rescued from the house. (I do not know what type of dogs). Both mother and daughter were transported to Tampa General Hospital suffering from minor smoke inhalation and some burns. While at the hospital, it was discovered that the mother, Nancy Lowe had been battered. Investigators learned that on Thursday night, May 23, 2013 her ex-husband, James Clark, DOB: 3-18-68 had gone to his ex-wife's residence at 6603 Timber Brook Court and battered Nancy Lowe. James had struck her multiple times about her body with his hands and a lamp.

Deputies obtained a search warrant to gain entry into the residence at 6603 Timber Brook Court, and once inside, deputies discovered that the mother and daughter had made a suicide pact and investigators located several suicide notes. It was also learned that earlier in the day, the daughter had gone to a neighbor and borrowed gasoline. The fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshall.
