    Fugitive Sex Offender Arrested In Plant City

    Suspect was wanted on numerous warrants.

    Details:

    Detectives assigned to the Special Investigation Division, Tactical Intelligence Team concluded a 2 week search for registered sex offender, Dennis Jamieson who is a suspect in a Grand Theft Auto report within Plant City. He was also wanted in two separate fleeing to elude incidents with the Tampa Police Department and Violation of Probation for Grand Theft with the Department of Corrections.

    On September 16, 2013, Jamieson cut his GPS monitoring bracelet from his leg and left his registered address without permission. In the days to follow, Jamieson fled from the Tampa Police department in a stolen vehicle on two occasions.  HCSO Detectives began spot surveillance on Jamieson's mother’s home in Plant City and his girlfriend’s home on Nebraska Ave in Tampa.

    Following several days of spot surveillance and contact with citizen informants, detectives learned that Jamieson was at his mother’s house in Plant City.  Detectives moved surveillance back to the mother's home and observed Jamieson's girlfriend leaving the residence.

    Detectives obtained consent to search the mother's home and with the assistance of a HCSO K-9 unit, Jamieson was located by the K-9 hiding under a pile of clothing.  During Jamieson's apprehension, he was bit in the arm by the K-9 after he failed to comply with the orders from the K-9 handler.  Jamieson was medically treated for a minor dog bite to his left arm before being booked into the Orient Road Jail with no bond.
