An 18-year-old man armed with a loaded .357 Smith & Wesson snub-nose revolver was quickly apprehended moments after he ran from a deputy in a North Tampa neighborhood.
Malcolm J Green, of 10407 N. Lantana Ave is facing multiple criminal charges including Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell. Just before 7 p.m., on August 16, a uniformed patrol deputy on routine patrol spotted Green on a bicycle and conducted a stop at E. 127th Av and N. 15th St in North Tampa.
During the stop, the deputy discovered Green had provided a false name. When the deputy walked back to confront Green about the false name, Green fled on foot.
Moments later, Green slipped and fell running through a small puddle of water. When Green fell, a loaded .357 Smith & Wesson snub-nose revolver popped out of his waistband. The deputy who chased Green was able to quickly secure the handgun and arrest Green without further incident and no injuries.
Green was booked into the Orient Road Jail where he is currently being held with no bond.
