HCSO Champions To Defend Title In Charitable Hoagie Building Competition:
On February 27, 2014, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies will compete in a hoagie building competition for charity. Deputies will be defending their title as the winners of a competition that was held on December 5, 2013.
Wawa will hold a grand opening celebration at 10:00 a.m. During the grand opening, local officials, members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and County Fire Rescue, store associates and Wawa’s mascot will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ceremony will culminate with a “Hoagies for Heroes” sandwich building competition, as members of both Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue face off in a battle of skill and sandwich making expertise. Each team will be challenged to see who can build the most hoagies in three minutes in the traditional Wawa way.
Joining the competition for this event will be a Public Information Officer from both respective agencies. Larry Mckinnon will be joining the Sheriff’s Office team and Ronnie Rivera will be on the Fire Rescue Team.
Wawa will conclude the Hoagies for Heroes competition by presenting checks on behalf of the winning and runner up teams, for $1,000 to their charities of choice.
