    Deputies Arrest Father And Son In Road Rage Incident

    On January 9, 2014, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the victim, Michael Stillwell stated that he observed a truck driving recklessly. Stillwell attempted to get the tag number of the truck to report the vehicle. The driver, Ian Daniel stopped suddenly causing Stillwell to swerve onto the shoulder of the road to avoid a collision. Stillwell navigated back onto the roadway. At this point, the truck is behind the victim. Ian Daniel struck Stillwell’s rear side bumper with his front left bumper.

    The victim pulled to the side of the road to end further involvement at which point Ian Daniel blocked the victim’s vehicle with his vehicle to prevent him from leaving. Both Ian Daniel and his son exited their vehicle. The victim opened his door and remained in his with his seat belt fastened. Ian Daniel reached inside the vehicle and struck the victim with a closed fist several times. Stillwell’s 13-year-old daughter was also in the vehicle. Both Ian and Lewis Daniel fled the scene. The victim had obtained the tag number.

    Deputies responded to the registered address of the vehicle. Deputies made contact with Ian Daniel and attempted to detain him in reference to the incident. Daniel struck the deputy in the chin with a closed fist and continued to resist efforts to place him under arrest. Ian and Lewis Daniel were taken into custody.

    The victim positively identified the Ian Daniel as the person that struck him. Ian and Lewis Daniel were arrested and transported to the Orient Road Jail.
