Previous Release 14-013:
On January 9, 2014 at 3:04 p.m., deputies noticed a stolen vehicle pulling into the Farm Store located at 2202 E. 131st Ave. Two deputies pulled in after the stolen vehicle and surrounded it. Deputy Brian Dawsy ordered the passenger out of the vehicle first as Deputy Alex Moon ordered the driver to show his hands. Khalil Ali exited the passenger side and began fighting with Deputy Dawsy. Deputy Dawsy disengaged and used his Taser on Ali. Ali struggled, but was able to remove the prongs of the Taser. Deputy Moon ran to assist Deputy Dawsy and Ali fled on foot as he yelled at the driver to leave. At that time, the driver struck both HCSO vehicles in an attempt to flee. The driver was successful and was last seen traveling southbound on 22nd Street towards University Mall. Meanwhile, Deputy Moon and Deputy Dawsy chased Ali over two fences where they witnessed him discard marijuana that was packaged for distribution. After a short chase, Ali was taken into custody. He is being charged with Resist with Violence, Battery on a LEO and Possession with Intent to Deliver. His most recent mugshot (Sept 2012) is attached.
Deputies are still searching for the driver of the vehicle. He is described as a dark-skinned male, approximately 5'11”, average build with a crew cut. He was last seen driving a late '90s champagne colored 4-door Mercury. The vehicle has Visqueen (plastic sheeting) on the driver's side window, a busted passenger headlight and is missing the front passenger hubcap.
