    DOB: 01/05/1998
    4705 Water Lark Way
    Valrico, FL

    Just before 1 a.m. this morning, the Iberville Sheriff's Office in Louisiana notified HCSO that 16-year-old Ashley Lyon and 41-year-old Steven Patrick Myers were located and are now in custody. Ashley was reported missing earlier in the week and was suspected of traveling with Myers.

    **The following information is what's been conveyed to HCSO from investigators with the Iberville Sheriff's Office. PLEASE NOTE: These details are "preliminary" in nature and are subject to change as the investigation continues;
    Due to national media attention in this case, patrons at a local truck stop in Grosse Tete, Louisiana notified the Iberville Sheriff Office when they recognized Steven Myers and Ashley Lyon walk into the truck stop.  When sheriff deputies arrived in the area, they spotted Lyon and Myers in a Chevy 3500 flatbed pickup truck and attempted some form of a traffic stop. Myers who was driving the truck, refused to pull over and turned the encounter into a police pursuit that traveled approximately 40 miles.

    During the pursuit, Myers reportedly struck 4 other vehicles in some type of attempt to create road blockage behind him. Deputies managed to deploy multiple stop sticks and were successful in deflating the trucks tires.  Myers continued driving the truck down to the rims until the truck was finally disabled and could no longer travel any further.  Once the truck stopped, Myers exited the truck with a knife in hand yelling at the deputies to shoot him. Steven Myers was then apprehended and taken to a local hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana where he was treated for what's believed to be two self inflicted stab wounds and K9 dog bites.

    Ashley Lyon was found in the disabled truck with multiple stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital in Lafayette where she is listed in critical condition.

    Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office along with the family of Ashley Lyon want to express gratitude for the local and national media's attention which assisted the public in recognizing the duo and notifying law enforcement.

    We would also like to thank the Iberville Sheriff's Office in Louisiana along with all other law enforcements agencies that assisted in this investigation.

    Also, the family of Ashley has asked HCSO to covey to you (media), that they will provide some form of statement later on today.

    I don't anticipate having any further information or updates until later this morning or early afternoon. In the event new information is developed, we'll send it out via media alert.
