    Marine Unit Rescue

    Marine Unit deputies rescue two swimmers who had been swept out with the current into the Bay.

    On June 23, 2014, at approximately 4:59 pm, Marine Unit deputies responded to the area of Apollo Beach Nature Park in reference to two adult males who had been swept out approximately one mile into the Bay and struggling to stay afloat. Upon arrival, Bakytbek Kozugulov and his cousin Zhumaliev Zhumakadyr were floating utilizing a pink inflatable tube and struggling against the current. They were taken aboard the Marine Unit vessel and transported to the Nature Park where they were treated by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue for exhaustion and dehydration.
