On May 18, 2014, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a person down at 6502 Solitaire Palm Way in Apollo Beach. Hillsborough County paramedics and deputies arrived and confirmed that Tucker was deceased.
The following preliminary information is what's currently known at the time of this release and is subject to change pending further investigation;
According to interviews, Gale Tucker's husband indicated he last saw his wife Saturday night asleep in her bed. When he woke up this morning, Gale was not in the house. Mr. Tucker assumed his wife had gone for a walk. Just after 11 a.m., Gale's family noticed she hadn't returned home and began looking for her. A few minutes later, Gale's adult son found his mother floating face down in the home pool. Gale was pulled from the pool and declared deceased after paramedics arrived.
Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an official autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. At this time, detectives do not suspect foul play and will work closely with the medical examiner to see if any pre-existing medical conditions may have played a role in this incident. This process could take 6-8 weeks.
