On April 6, 2015 at approximately 12:00, the defendant drove from Griffin, Georgia to the Holiday Inn located at 8610 Elm Fair Blvd. in Tampa. The defendant drove to the Holiday Inn with the (self-admitted) intent to murder the victim after learning of his whereabouts. Upon arrival at the hotel, the defendant coerced the victim to the parking lot. The defendant then began punching the victim in the face. The victim asked the defendant to enter his car to keep from causing a disturbance. While in his car, the defendant used an electric stun gun on the victim's right arm approximately three times and poked the victim in the right side of the abdomen with a large pair of scissors. The defendant also pointed a firearm at the victim (while seated next to him) and threatened to murder him. The victim did not sustain any visible injuries. The victim was able to escape from the situation. The defendant was found to be in possession of an electric stun gun, pepper spray, a large pair of scissors, a roll of duct tape and a loaded .25 caliber semi-auto pistol. The victim and defendant are personally known to each other and were previously in a dating relationship. The defendant has sent the victim several death threats via text message and e-mail. The victim is an adult and suffers from a physical disability which restricts him to a wheelchair and limits his ability.
