On August 26, 2015 in the area of Waters Avenue and Florida Avenue, detectives conducted a buy/bust with suspect Jimmie Bowen for 145 Hydromorphine pills, 150 Methadone pills and 60 Xanax pills. Bowen was arrested upon completion of the transaction. He was also arrested for a separate narcotics trafficking case conducted in July.
Bowen's criminal history includes 2nd Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery w/Deadly Weapon (firearm) and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (firearm). Bowen was released from Florida State Prison in 2013 after serving a 17 year sentence for 2nd Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Carrying a Concealed Firearm. The charges in this case carry a minimum/mandatory sentence 15 years.
